Our 'Life-Fit' club is a recreation/fitness based social club for adults over 50 years. Specialist instructors organise a range of activities for this age group - from walking to educational classes, fitness, yoga and pilates and social trips to places of interest around Canterbury.
Our Thursday Club run specifically for adults with disabilities is one of the Christchurch YMCA's longest running programmes. This social and recreational get-together is an ideal place for disabled adults to make new friends, challenge themselves and have fun.
The Christchurch YMCA also offers a range of rock climbing courses which cater for beginners right through to experienced climbers wanting a challenge.
We also have a Mothers and Preschoolers free part-time course run through our Education Centre, which aims to teach literacy and numeracy skills to mothers which will assist in positive parenting.
Our course is held in a safe and supportive, child-friendly environment where, through an increase in confidence and self-esteem, new opportunities can be created for mothers with their children.
