We are all more than a physical body. We feel through it - and when we are upset, the structure goes out of alignment - and often just attending to the pain on in the body can igore the real spiritual, emotional and even psychic pain we also feel.
The mechanical models of modern medicine can tend to ignore the feelings we all live in and through. Taking a pill to silence our distress often is not all we need. The use of the physical to validate needing help often works against us - as it is often our soul/our heart/our centre that is not at peace. Using the bio medical model rather than an energy one means that it can all work against healing - as it is not JUST the body parts that are hurting. As the spirit/heart/energy model is where we work from, feeling better at all levels is needed to really make a difference.
