18th June 2014 Took car to owner's brother's business Coast Auto Electrix in Whangaparaoa, no suitable equipment there so car taken here. First repair attempt failed, then they contacted brother to invite us to bring it in for another go, cost would be $100 if successful. Decided to let them try again (big mistake!) even though we had booked a well-known workshop across town in a few days. We were told they'd only need car for 1 hour. Returned 1.5 hrs later and car just as we'd left it. Owner said they'd run out of time but if we brought it back next day (Sat) we could collect on Mon. Car wouldn't start (due to fault) so we were stuck near EFI for another 2 hours. Returned next morning and told we'd be called Mon when car ready for pickup. After waiting all day, we rang at 4:30pm and were told we'd now be called next morning. Took buses to shops near EFI the next day but again no call. Rang them 1:30pm, got told we'd be called later. Got a call (finally!) later that day saying car repaired but wouldn't idle(!). Came back to collect Wed, presented with bill 50% in excess of quote and told we were lucky charge wasn't higher. Refused to pay above quote and owner rude and "hoped car would die on the way home". Awful service and car still needs repairs.
