Established in 1968 Composite Retail Group has evolved from a small accounting service into New Zealand's premier member owned service for independent retailers with approximately 400store-fronts and an annual turnover in excess of $70 million.
Independent retailers continue to incur market pressures from chains and department stores and seek new ways to improve margin and differentiation. Each Division operates as a separate business unit to provide services appropriate to the needs of its members.

Six directors are members who own and operate their own retail store thereby ensuring that policies and decisions affecting the group are made from a practical perspective by shareholders.
Dedicated General Managers provide knowledge and expertise in their product category. They facilitate and co-ordinate marketing initiatives on behalf of their group such as exclusive ranges catalogues, POS material, deals and special terms, trade fairs and member meetings. Advertising agencies provide specialist services where required.
