10th October 2010 A lovely experience, in all respects. Between us we had three pieces of baking and some coffee. The coffee was fine, better than most, but the food was outstanding. My lemon and apple crumble was just perfect,and from what I hear the other food was equally good. It struck me as a monumentus effort - the selection of quality homemade baking was so huge. The service wasn't anything special, but it lady was pleasant and our order arrived promptly. The setting was tranquil and the gardens very pretty, but the atmosphere was relaxed. Would be an excellent to go with kids, but also ideal for with the grandparents. Lots of space and peace, a very good family setting. Overall, an excellent experience.
10th December 2014 I've been to this cafe before and I like the quirky decor and great food so much that I have ignored the owner's terse almost rude attitude. But today was the absolute limit. She snarled at staff in front of customers and groaned and rolled her eyes when asked a question whilst sitting in the cafe counting money. My friend and I were so surprised and upset at her hostility that we cancelled our plans to have lunch there. There is more to running a successful business that just food preparation. As a host of an establishment I expect at least ...at the very least civility. I will never go back and will never again recommend this place to visitors.
