Tenob Wholesale Marine Ltd was founded in 1973 by Ted Nobbs, hence the company name. In 1990 current managing director Stewart Mathiesen, who has a background in manufacturing and engineering, took over the company.
Tenob Marine manufactures and sells marine fittings, chandlery and accessories. The company deals exclusively with trade customers throughout New Zealand but also exports product to Australia for RW Basham Pty Ltd, a wholesale distributor.
The company has grown substantially over the years along with an ever increasing range of products best suited to the trailer power boat market. The company's flagship "Rise and Fall" auxiliary outboard motor bracket was there at the beginning and over 33 years later continues to be the leader in quality, innovation and durability. Tenob designs and manufactures other core items including drain plugs, bungs, rod holders, bait tables, gaffs, boat hooks.
Tenob's complete product range is a mix of locally manufactured and imported items primarily from USA, Canada, Asia and Australia (some agencies listed below). The range is available throughout New Zealand through marine stores, chandlery stores and boat dealers.
