Beautiful lodge and a beautiful setting. I've used the lodge a few times as a base for fishing expeditions to the local rivers and thoroughly enjoyed my stays. A wine on the deck overlooking the vines is the perfect finish to a sunny day in the Hawkes Bay. Thanks Jes and Eileen for being such great hosts.

Amazing rooms set within a grand country estate. Beautiful rooms looking out over their own vineyards and across the Lower Esk Valley. Great hosts, knowledgeable about the Hawkes Bay, where to dine, visit and adventure. We also loved their custom built pizza oven and fresh home grown produce. Highly recommend Esk Valley Lodge! :)

My partner and I stayed in December last year and were extremely happy with our experience. We strongly recommend partaking in the drinks and nibbles on offer as the owners, Jes and Eileen, have fantastic local knowledge and can put you onto some delicious places around Napier to drink and dine.
Our room was beautiful and the grounds were spectacular. We very much enjoyed our experience and look forward to returning when we next visit Napier.

Gorgeous setting among vines and an orchard, this B&B has tastefully decorated rooms and fantastic hosts. The breakfast menu had a range of delicious options and we even got to try their own wine grown on the surrounding vines. Highly recommended!

We spent 4 nights here in January, Everything was perfect, the views the rooms and the meals. We very much enjoyed the evening platter we eat out in the gardens one evening. Highly recommended

My wife and I stayed in the Sauvignon Suite in May, 2009. It was the finest B&B that we visited in two months in New Zealand. The views are simply amazing, overlooking a vineyard, gardens and fruit trees. The only sound is the birds chirping in the morning. Truly tranquil. The house is beautiful, quality constructed and quiet. Our suite had its own heat pump, which meant nice warmth during the cooler months (something lacking in most accommodations across New Zealand). The owners, Eileen and Jes were delightful and extremely helpful, making own dinner reservations for us and suggesting wineries and sites to visit. True class all around. We we enthusiastically recommend this B&B to anyone.

We had a wonderful time at the Esk Valley Lodge. We booked two nights in the Sauvignon Suite, which was clean, spacious and had a balcony overlooking the beautiful grounds and surrounding vineyards. Eileen was an excellent hostess. (Unfortunately, her husband, Jes, was sick during our stay, so we didn't have the opportunity to meet him.) She invited us to join her for some wine and snacks after we settled in and gave us some good suggestions for local restaurants. The next morning we were served an excellent breakfast was cooked to order from the lodge's menu. That afternoon we went on an excellent Hawkes Bay wine tour, which was very entertaining and educational.
We reluctantly left the next morning following another delicious breakfast and will always hope to return in the future to Esk Valley Lodge.
