Te Tiro was built to capture the unique beauty of its surroundings. As a family, we felt we should share with others the magic of what has kept us here on the family farm for 5 generations.
In any kind of weather the views are breath taking. The area includes; 1000 acres of farm and 660 acres of native bush which has been put into the QE II Trust to protect it for generations to come.
Our farm is a fantastic example of what Waitomo is renowned for; caves glow-worms, rough limestone out-crops, lush green fields and friendly people. At present we have a number of walking tracks through our native bush. There are also a number of rock climbing areas which are mapped out for those interested. Caves are scattered throughout the farm and can be accessed by guided trips organised by us.

Two self-contained pioneer cottages on established sheep and cattle farm. Enjoy fantastic 180° views from your verandah. At night, visit a glowworm grotto, only metres from your cottage door.
Each cottage has own bathroom, heater, electric blankets, refrigerator and cooking facilities.
Cottages can accommodate from 1-5 people in a cosy open plan room with loft.
