Have you ever watched a helicopter fly past and wondered what it would be like to ride in or better still, to fly it yourself? Try both during an Introductory Helicopter Lesson with Ardmore Helicopters.
Ardmore Helicopters will begin with a briefing before introducing you to one of their Hughes 300 training helicopters for pre-flight checks. You'll fly with an experienced Ardmore Helicopter Instructor who will hand the controls over to you after lift-off.
During the flight you will get to experience a variety of flight maneuvers as well as being guided through the Helicopter basics while you are in control. Heading back to the Ardmore Airfield we'll set up an auto-rotational approach to show you how we can glide and land without using your engine power. The highlight of the lesson is for you to try your hand at hovering a helicopter.
LEARN TO FLY A HELICOPTER WITH ARDMORE HELICOPTERS
Flight Training is the core of Ardmore Helicopters business. At Ardmore Helicopters we provide personalised training from experienced Instructors to ensure you develop a depth of aviation knowledge surpassing that required for your Helicopter examination and licence. To obtain your Helicopter license you will need to:
- Be at least 17 years or older
- Hold a Class 2 NZ Medical Certificate
- Pass 6 PPL Written Examinations (courses offered in association with Ardmore Flying School)
- Minimum of 50 hours Flying for your PPL Flight Test
