CONTACT US

The first step towards your kitchen investment is to arrange an appointment with Homewood Kitchens. If you are building we prefer you bring in your house plans or if renovating we will meet you on site to take measurements. At this time we will discuss the requirements for your new kitchen, you will also be asked your preferences for kitchen appliances during our discussions as it is an integral part of kitchen design.


CONSULTATION AND DESIGN

After the initial consultation we will design your kitchen with all the information we have gathered with our 3d design software and contact you once the design is ready for presentation. Our initial consultation and presentation is free, however, if there are ongoing design alterations our hourly rate will apply thereafter. Once plans and options are approved we can provide you with a full comprehensive quotation. Designs and drawings remain the property of Homewood Kitchens until the quotation is accepted in the form of a signed contract and deposit. Alternately we can release the design and specifications for a fee (determined by the design).

The layout of your kitchen will be determined by the size and shape of the walls, windows and door positions. We work with you, minimising stress and offering sound advice along the way, with our extensive knowledge on materials, hardware and colour selection, creating a kitchen that is unique to your needs and lifestyle.


SUB TRADES

If the kitchen is being fitted into a new home there is no need to think about extras such as electricians and plumbers but we will need to liaise with your trades people to ensure plumbing and power points are positioned correctly. However if fitting a kitchen in an existing home other trades people need to be considered to complete the job. A plumber and electrician are generally always required. Also you may need a decorator and a flooring specialist. We will coordinate with these other trades people to ensure timing of the installation of your kitchen works in and is completed ASAP.

We can remove your existing kitchen if needed, but for any structural changes a builder will need to be employed. We can assist you in finding trades people when required.


MANUFACTURE

Once you have accepted our quote, all details have been finalised and a deposit has been paid, we will proceed in manufacturing your new kitchen. We use the latest computer technology in conjunction with a CNC router to machine the components for your kitchen. This ensures sizes are accurate to a fraction of a millimeter, every board is 100% square and any holes are positioned exactly. This gives absolute consistency, perfect clean cuts to all edges and any shaped work is done with precision.

Your kitchen is completely assembled in the factory and set out as it will be in your home. You are welcome to inspect your kitchen(TM)s progress once manufacturing is complete. If cabinets are to be lacquered we ask that you make an inspection of the unpainted kitchen before it is disassembled and sent to the paint shop. In most cases the lacquered components are delivered and assembled as the kitchen is being installed. This minimises any chance of damage and allows more time to coordinate the project.

Being able to see your kitchen as it progresses is a major plus as it helps install confidence that you are getting everything you expected. Should by some chance something has been overlooked, if gives us the opportunity to make any changes or add some other features.


INSTALLATION

To maintain the exceptional standard that Homewood kitchens is renowned for we insist on installing the kitchens we manufacture. An exceptional kitchen can look terrible if not installed in a manner appropriate to its standard. Your kitchen should not only look great once installed, but be manufactured with utmost attention to detail. Installation of kitchen units will normally take 1-2 days. If you are having stone bench tops there would be an approximate two week wait from after the units are installed and the bench tops are templated until they are installed. We would need to come back to install any on bench units after the bench tops are installed.

PAYMENT

Upon acceptance of our quotation we require a 50% deposit of the total amount before manufacturing begins. A further 40% payment is requested before the kitchen is installed into your home. The final 10% is due within 7 days of completion of installation.
