Visited 8 Sept for a dual birthday/anniversary celebration having been given a voucher. I am pleased to say that this was a great dining experience and I will be a future paying customer for sure. The service, food and general ambiance was top notch (pleasantly surprised having seen other reviews - clearly they take criticism well and have improved which is what reviews should all be about).
The host and waitress were warm and accommodating (I had to request a different table due to a chest injury making the first one a bit tight) and the restaurant itself was modern, yet warm and inviting. Always a good sign when the restaurant is busy - this was near full yet it was not overly noisy - and we had the advantage of coming at 7 when we could see what everyone else was eating!
The Tagliatelle entree was superb. Pasta cooked well, mushrooms oozing with flavour - decadence! The Shrimp salad was fresh and delicious, even accounting for the sesame seed crust (which I felt was unnecessary and tasteless - the only low point). Mains were a delight: Pork Belly was melt in the mouth delicious, just as it should be, cutting like butter. The Fish of the Day, which I had grilled, was equally as tasty, cooked to perfection with a delightful sauce. While the portions did not look huge on arrival, they were well constructed with a lot of flavour and I was left more than satisfied.
Thanks so much, can't wait to visit you again!

This is one of the worst French Restaurants I have been too.Our booking was for eight oclock and we not allowed in a minute before. We had to wait outside in a slightly chilly wind.We had bought one of their vouchers and we were treated as such meaning second class customers. The menu was on a piece of paper. The food was tasteless. I ordered fish which came with only mashed potatoes and a watery sauce. The others ordered steak which was just about walking off the plate. This came with chips and salad leaves, same food you would get in a pub.For dessert I ordered crepes which were like rubber with ice-cream that was melting by the time I was given a spoon to eat with. The noise from a table of about 20 was deafining. We couldn't even have a decent conversation. The only good thing I can say was that the food came quite quickly. We will never go back there.

Been to St Tropez Restaurant twice and wasn't let down. Awesome and quick service, food was awesome, was always checked on and the creme brulee just exploded in my mouth, what a flavour! Had a lovely date with husband.
Just a note. When we were offered water, sparkling or flat, we don't remember being told it was charged - or maybe the waitress accent was so strong we gave up understanding and just said 'yes'. So that was a bit of a point to check next time. Otherwise, totally recommend St Tropez.

This is my favourite French restaurant in Auckland - just the right amount of lashings of butter, butter and more butter in their cooking just like le french like it! Definately recommend that apple tarte - but you must order this at the start of your meal as it takes about half an hour to cook. BYO corkage on the expensive side - but with a wide wine list of gorgeous french and nz wines, why not just buy a glass!
