Neighbourhood Support Waitakere is a community based programme that aims to make our homes, streets, neighbourhoods and communities safer and a more caring place to live in.
Neighbourhood Support Waitakere is in partnership with the NZ Police, NZ Fire Service, Civil Defence Emergency Management (CDEM) and Safe Waitakere (Waitakere City Council).
By participating in a Neighbourhood Support Group, you will get information about local crime, appropriate crime prevention and safety advice and contact with neighbours. Members usually exchange phone numbers and e-mail addresses for a phone tree, they can meet occasionally over an issue or simply to stay in touch.
