This is my favourite haunt in Invercargill for bar-meals. The service is fast and efficient. Meals are served in a timely fashion and the atmosphere whether dining in the bar itself or out in the garden is laid back and comfortable. Most of all though the food is great and the cost doesn't break the bank.

The actual restaurant itself is a different story for some reason. The times I've been there I've been disappointed with the food and don't feel I got value for money. The service is always good though.

I recently spend a number of weeks in Southland and I'm sorry but this is the worst Resturant in Southland. As it was St Pat's day we just wanted an easy and quick meal away from the mayhem. We entered and had to wait 5-10 minutes before we were offered a table and even then the Manager was extremely rude. We were seated and then instantly asked if we were ready to order. We said no and the waitress left... I had to ask another waitress to take our drinks order. We ordered Bread for starters and it came with Motel pots of margerine, although they were opened for us, thanks. The meal was greasy and only semi warm which when I was already getting annoyed at the service didn't help. I think all three of us barely ate half of it. Our waitress was very pleasant but you could tell she'd had no training what so ever and this had a huge effect on our experience. I know that this resturant is not fine dining but that isn't an excuse to treat your guests like the rubbish you served us as food. I will not be returning to this "resturant" ever again.

I grew up coming to Cobb & Co restaurants, and almost any restaurant I go to now is compared to them. When in Invercargill visiting family, we'll usually end up at the Cobb for good round kiwi tucker.
