Leading Edge Cylinder Heads is a family owned business offering a complete range of services for your cylinder head whether it be repair, reconditioning or modification.
Leading Edge Cylinder Heads are specialists in cylinder head reconstruction due to engine failure or a crack in the casting. We take pride in our workmanship and especially in our success with aluminium repairs. Our large customer base of local mechanical workshops is a testament to our high standard of service.
We specialise in cylinder head development and porting using a computer assisted flow bench and cater to a wide range of motorsport classes and types, from motorbikes and cars to jet skis. We have a number of motorsport fanatics who return every year to either develop or maintain their racing cylinder head.
Who are we:
Owner/Manager, Dwight Strother (Floman), with 20 years in the trade (the last 11 years as owner of Leading Edge) has worked on many kinds of cylinder heads, from 5HP Briggs to V12 Lamborghini. One workshop employee, Amrit, has worked with Dwight since leaving school and has 13 years experience doing all general reconditioning. Michelle Strother (co-owner) handles all the admin.
Our many services include:
Hardness testing, sonic testing, flow testing, cam analysis, pressure testing, fitting stainless valves, UV crack testing, vacuum testing, combustion chamber measurement, machine to fit larger valve springs, large valve seat maching and manifold porting.
