Sausalito Cafe is situated adjacent to the Bridgeway Cinema in Northcote Point. This quaint and historic suburb, situated just over the Harbour Bridge reminded owner Dennis Wiley of the little town of Sausalito just over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco - hence the name.
Open 7 days from 9am till late Sausalito is a favourite with both locals and those visiting the cinema. An extensive menu offers breakfasts, lunches and dinner with continuous service. Sausalito is also popular as a bar for those just wanting a relaxing drink or a coffee. All menu items including the wood fired pizzas are available as take-out.

Met a group of friends here and had a great dinner - the best vegetable stack I have ever had! The service was good and the atmosphere was very relaxed. Will definitely go back for more!

This is a good reliable restaurant. Many years ago I was not interested in going, they were too slow and the food below average BUT now it does good quality food. I go if I am going to the movies which is just next door and they now get the food out in time to eat and get to the movie on time. The Menu seems to stay the same but you then get your favourites and know the standard will be good. A lovely spot in Northcote Point as well!

This has been a great find for us as even though we live in the city we often cross the bridge to catch a movie and make an event of it by having late lunch or dinner at Sausalito Cafe. Often meet friends there or take 'em with us for a fabulous reasonably priced meal & great staff who make themselves aware if you are off to the flicks and need to get going. All in all we love this Cafe, its the way that dining is now going - certainly for us. Would (and have) thoroughly recommend Sausalito as it offers a modern and easy style of dining and entertaining.

Good neighbourhood cafe / restaurant. They do a great breakfast and good pizza but it can be very busy on a Friday or Sat night. I am not sure why everyone complains about the service. We've never had any problems.

After living nearby and experiencing consistently rude and aloof behaviour from staff, I vowed I'd never walk through the door again. But Sausalito pretty much has a monopoly on the pre- and post-cinema quick dining experience in Northcote Point, so I had to eat my words. I was surprised to find the service levels and average attitude had lifted somewhat. And although the ingredients used (we've opted for a platter on the last two visits) were not top quality, at least it is no longer a bitter experience dining there. Rather, it's a pleasant way to spend an hour before a movie.

I have been to sausalito probably a few hundred times at least over the last couple of years, yet now refuse to eat there point blank as the staff are persistently rude, careless and negligent, and the mediocrity of the food means it fails to compensate for this. I have walked out of this restaurant a number of times, and would not recommend it in it's current state to any diner.

We have always had great food, as was the case on Thursday Feb 4th 2010, however on this particular night we found the service to be less than satisfactory. Our order appeared to have been misplaced and after waiting what seemed an eternity til someone noticed we were still waiting, we didn't even get an apology. I think it may be a while before we venture back as we were really disaoppointed.

I have been to Sausalito many times, and I would go there for the wine, not the food. Great atmosphere on a Friday or Saturday night. The inside heaters are blasting during winter to make you feel warm and cosy.They sell wine by the glass, or bottle from an extensive wine list. They even let you try free samples.
