OUR AIM: Is to provide a funeral service in accordance with families wishes, while providing support to enable them to grieve in a natural way.
WHAT DOES A FUNERAL DIRECTOR DO? Our main concern is with assisting a family through the funeral process - from the time of death to the funeral service. In some situations, we begin supporting a family before the death occurs, as is the case when someone pre-arranges their funeral.
Support and guidance are key roles we perform. We help to tailor a funeral service that is meaningful and memorable to our client families. To do this, we will meet with family (either at our premises or in their own home) and listen to what they want. We will discuss all options including costs, and allow the family to make informed decisions.
WHAT TOPICS NEED TO BE DISCUSSED? The most important issue is the option of burial or cremation. If your deceased loved one had not already indicated which they prefer, the family will need to decide. This is the biggest decision family will have to make. We can discuss the different aspects of both and assist family in decision making.
Other considerations will include:
- the venue for the service (Church, Chapel or alternative venue such as a public hall, graveside or outdoor venue)
day and time of funeral service.
- who will officiate - a Minister of religion, or Funeral Celebrant or whether the service is to be public or private.
- newspaper notices - we can help format and word a death notice, and insert them for you.
- flowers - the fa
