McMaster & Heap Veterinary Practice is a progressive, modern, very professional companion animal veterinary clinic, located centrally in the suburb of Hoon Hay, Christchurch. Michele McMaster and Steve Heap have owned the practice for 10 years and it has grown substantially in size, caseload and reputation in that time.

Our staff of 4 highly skilled veterinarians & 6 qualified vet nurses provide an exceptional medical and surgical veterinary service to our well loved patients 7 days/week, with after hours care provided. We also offer a spacious, light, well ventilated, warm and luxurious cattery for vacation time, that is able to be inspected at any time.

Dr Steve Heap is the South Islands ONLY certified veterinary ophthalmologist who sees eye referrals in cats, dogs, horses, birds and many more species. He is a very skilled surgeon with a lot of experience in eye surgery and he has the necessary specialized equipment to perform the most delicate of eye surgeries. Cataract surgery, eye tumors and lid surgeries are among Steve's favourites. Steve is available at all times to ask for advice on any eye problem. Dr Catherine Morganti performs Ultrasound and Medical referrals at our practice and we also offer chemotherapy options for your pet with cancer.
