Bob Howden started Bob Howden Engineering Limited in Hornby, Christchurch in 1988, bringing with him 14 years of engineering experience. Coming from a farming background and completing his apprenticeship in a large rural Canterbury workshop with a strong emphasis on quality, this proved to be very thorough training ground, laying a sound basis to develop his skills with further experience over the following years.
Time was then spent operating, building and repairing a wide range of machinery in New Zealand, Europe and Australia. Here he gained considerable experience, which helped him further the ability to "think outside the square".
Manufacturing on a contract basis, Bob further honed his productive skills, enabling high quality innovative work to be produced in realistic time frames.
Having always built, repaired and modified a wide range of equipment, his knowledge is very extensive, and has no hesitation in contacting "experts" in specialised areas, where limited knowledge is known or where product certification is required.
Having a strong culture of quality, innovation, clever design and a real commitment to "doing it right the first time".
