P.L. Berry & Associates was founded in 1956 by Peter Loftus Berry; the practice has been owned and operated by Elspeth Buchanan since 1977.
P.L. Berry & Associates is a general Patent Attorney practice and deals with all intellectual property matters in New Zealand and overseas:- patents, trade marks, registered designs, confidential information, copyright and licensing.
Elspeth Buchanan holds the Honours degree of Bachelor of Metallurgy from Sheffield University in England, is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining. She is a Registered Patent Attorney in Australia and New Zealand and a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Patent Attorneys.
Elspeth Buchanan is assisted by associates Alan Chadwick and Virginia Nichols.
Alan Chadwick holds the degree of Bachelor of Chemical and Process Engineering from Canterbury University, and is a Registered Patent Attorney in Australia and New Zealand and a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Patent Attorneys.
Virginia Nichols holds a Bachelor's degree with honours in Physics, a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and a Bachelor of Laws, all from Canterbury University, and is a Registered Patent Attorney in Australia and New Zealand and a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Patent Attorneys.
