Stewart Island Lodge - Under NEW management (from Aug 2008)
Stewart Island Lodge is New Zealand's southernmost lodge and situated just a five minute walk from the village at Halfmoon Bay. This up-market Bed and Breakfast's garden is home to many native birds, including kaka (native parrots) which may be viewed from the terrace. The Stewart Island Lodge has commanding views over Halfmoon Bay and across the ocean.
The main building is centrally-heated and includes a lounge/dining area with an extensive deck from which to appreciate the panoramic views.
Guest rooms are king-sized double or twin and have an expansive deck with ocean view. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms with own bath.
A continental or cooked breakfast is included and all guests are invited to a hosted pre-dinner drink with appetisers. Restaurants are available for evening dining in the township of Oban (at guests' expense).
