8th December 2008 i am from australia and recently worked in arrowtown i often drove to invercargill because friends had told me of the wonderful hospitality and friendliness of the local people i was in the warehouse many times and so impressed by the kindness and polite mannered staff, they could even understand my accent and didnt laugh too much at me just made me feel welcome and able to shop in my leisure and everything was easy to find thanks to the layout of the wonderful store
the security staff keeping the public on their toes watching out for any shoplifters are
to be highly commended as i had seen them in action well done invercargill
what a difference from back home in australia where every thing is rushed

11th February 2008 I have found this store to be staffed by well informed and polite people. It is also much improved since the layout was changed making it easier to locate the various departments.
However I have noticed on several occasions since the beginning of Nov '07 that many items that are advertised as specials are not available during the week that they are advertised. I have been informed by some staff that sometimes they are awaiting the weekly delivery which is on a Wednesday yet Thursday produces no satisfactory results either. I've also been told that the specials are ordered approximately 6 months in advance which I believe would give them plenty of time to either withdraw the product from their advertising material or make some form of substitution. Why then do these items miraculously appear on the Monday morning after the discount has finished
I have on a number of occasions made trips to town especially to buy a discounted product only to find it out of stock and although, as I said the staff are polite and well informed, I am offered the above explaination I feel that the advertisements are used more as a lure to draw customers into the store than as a genuine special offer
