cycling * motocross * dance * kapa haka * musical theatre * Shakespeare Festivals and catering, Southland Boys get involved.
The desire of students to represent their school is evident in the high levels of participation in teams and competitions. The school continues to build on the longstanding and dual traditions of excellence and participation. On the sideline in the Blue Army or in the team, SBHS boys support each other with pride.
Hostel
Coldstream House is Southland Boys' High School Boarding Hostel. The hostel has accommodation for approximately 90 boys, most of whom live in the Southland area and board with us either part-time or full-time. We cater for boys from year 7 to year 13.

International Students
Southland Boys' High School is a specialist provider of Boys' education. Based on sound research, we have designed academic, sporting and cultural programmes specifically tailored to boys needs. The school is modern and well resourced, with beautiful buildings and excellent facilities for computer and information technology. All International students receive specialist ESOL tuition in both general and academic English. Students can choose from a wide range of subjects, each of which is taught by highly qualified, specialist staff.
All students work alongside one another in a multi-cultural learning environment. We take a holistic view of boys' education believing that they should be involved in a variety of experiences. Many of our past students have become outstanding achievers in their chosen professions. We want out boys to develop a healthy lifestyle with a variety of options to take into their future.
