John Brooks Ltd. is a privately owned company, it was
started in 1964 in Christchurch as a general engineering and
manufacturing operation by John and June Brooks.
Major customers were the Meat processing industries of the south and
lower North Island to whom they designed and built slaughter floor and
packaging conveyors. In 1970 they shifted to a larger premises and began to sell bearings, chain, sprockets and other power transmission product lines.
Today this product line has increased substantially to include major
agencies for Electrical motors, motor speed control, industrial
gearboxes and servo systems for robotics, also a pumping division of the company based in Auckland services the the sales for milking machine systems into the dairy industry and wine pumps to the wineries
The company is now owned and operated by John's sons Murray and Chris Brooks and a total staff of 26 over the three branches.
