Mastagard is a 100% Canterbury owned business, established in 1970 in Christchurch and was originally in the business of providing services including gardening, grounds keeping and removal of rubbish.

The business was purchased by the current owners in 1998. At that stage the company consisted of one truck and a small trailer that was used to collect 44 gallon drums from residential properties.

We were determined however and focused on growing the company to become a significant part of the Canterbury waste and recycling industry.

The company's services have now expanded into commercial waste and skip services. Although we grown, we have always maintained our commitment to providing reliability for our clients. Looking after our customers is, we believe, the reason that the business has experienced constant growth.

During the last several years we have consolidated our collection business with the purchase of a number of other waste collection operations to the point where we are now Christchurch's largest locally owned company servicing over 5,000 households and businesses.
