11th September 2011
In 1998 i attended Te Kura o Rangiriri with Rangiamohia Brown as our tumuaki. Finally going back in 2010 to give back to the kura that helped me grow. I worked there as a Kaiawhina for Angie Wihapi and observing her teaching strategies i found all her work was from her heart. At the beginning there were children on the roof, in the trees and jumping fences. By term two her words were gold to our kids, by third term she became another mother to not only her students, but myself included. Her dream for the kura was to bring it back up to par and then push them through to Kura kaupapa Maaori. She always use to say to me "Don't worry babe, we can do this!" So for our babies at Rangiriri, i will finish my papers and i will be back. Like she said to me, i will say the same to you "We can do this!" E kore au e tuohu, ko Rangiriri e tau nei!!!
Ka tangi apakura tonu te ngaakau mou raa e te Poutokomanawa o Rangiriri, Te Mokopuna o Waikato, Te Puhi o Pirirakau. E te kahurangi matahiapo, moe maarire mai.
