27th January 2012 We arrived at Top Jade at right on 7pm which is the time we had made our booking for. However when we arrived they seemed rather disorganised and didn't even have a table ready for us. We ordered our entrees and they took about 30 minutes to come out which I feel is quite a long wait for simple entrees.
We ordered BBQ Pork, Spring Rolls, and Dumplings. The Spring Rolls were really delicious. However the BBQ Pork was served as about 8 slices on a small saucer, it looked and tasted like it had just been reheated from a deli or something. The Dumplings were dripping with water, and not very nice at all, when you bit into them the filling fell out in one big ball.
We moved onto our Mains and we chose Sweet and Sour Pork and Crispy Chicken. The Sweet and sour pork was extremely sweet, and there was no crisp to it at all it was soggy as anything, and after a couple of fork fulls I got 3 gristly pieces in a row. Unfortunately this then put me off eating the rest. The Crispy Chicken was extremely fatty and salty as well.
The wait staff were fairly polite and other than being seated at a huge table when there was only two of us the restaurant itself was quite nice. However we would not be returning or recommending this to anyone.
Great service, dim sums were delicious... atomsphere is perfect for a date.
