Grand Harbour Chinese Restaurant
Grand Harbour was established in 2000 and we strive to serve the most authentic Hong Kong-style dishes in Auckland, a city with no shortage of Asian dining experiences. With an extensive beverage selection, comfortable surroundings and friendly staff, dining at Grand Harbour is always an unforgettable experience.
Whether for lunch or dinner, Grand Harbour Chinese Restaurant has become Auckland's premier source for fine Chinese dining with a host of delicious traditional recipes, specializing in duck as well as a wide range of seafood, including lobster, fish and crab dishes.
Yum Cha at Grand Harbour is very popular, with around 80 different varieties of steamed, deep fried, sweet, savoury and spicy Dim Sum to choose from. By word of mouth, the reputation of the restaurant has spread quickly among local and national diners seeking an authentic Hong Kong-style dining experience.
This is a spacious venue, able to seat around 300, so large groups are always welcome. The restaurant is situated just a two minute walk from the Viaduct Harbour and close to all major hotels. From weddings to corporate clients, Grand Harbour offers an exciting and suitable option for all occasions.
Hong Kong trained chefs bring a wealth of knowledge to the kitchen. While old favourites are popular, these chefs are always trying to improve their techniques, most notably with the Chef's Specials. Changing every 3 months, these signature dishes offer a new innovative take on traditional Chinese food. With live seafood, including blue cod, crayfish, paua and baby abalone, Grand Harbour offers a seasonal selection of delicious dishes that other places simply do not have.
The staff at Grand Harbour are quick, friendly and attentive. Service is the number one priority here, and one of the many things the restaurant prides itself on - including being voted Metro Magazine's 2004, 2005 and 2006 Chinese Restaurant of the Year.

Grand Harbour restaurant is the best Yum Char, actually no, best overall Chinese restaurant I have ever been to. The quality of food is fantastic, the price is reasonable and you leave there feeling just the right kind of full. To sit and sip Chinese tea with friends while eating lavish steamed dumplings and scrumptious other flavoursome chinese delicacies has left me with no other choice than to return next week, and the week after that and the week after that....

Excellent yum char! Been coming here for years and love this place. Highly recommend the ice-cream balls, deep fried squid/octopus leg things, freshly cooked greens and fresh watermelon drinks, DEVINE.

I've been here for Yum Cha before and thought the food was OK but not great. On my last visit I was really impressed. The range was huge and the quality was great. It's now my favourite Yum Cha in town.

Very nice food, enjoyed Beijing duck, wonton soup and bbq platter. Service was a little disappointing, ordered fried rice that never appeared, just as well though as we were all full, and hurried out by staff at the end of the night.

I have been to this restaurant once with my friends and I have to say this restaurant serves absolutely delicious and scrumptious food that will make your taste buds and mouth to water. They have lots of variety of foods to choose from. The service that we get from the staff is just so incredible and amazing because of the way they treat you. You even feel that you belong over there as if it's your own home. Also the atmosphere in this restaurant is very warm and cosy. If you live close to this restaurant, you should consider giving this restaurant a try. Highly recommended to everyone. You will love everything in this restaurant that you will want to come back again and again.

Yum Cha is very good, Nice selection of Yum Cha dishes. I recommend the Chicken's Feet and Egg Tarts if you have never tried Yum Cha - it's a real treat. Pleasant surroundings and not too noisy. Most lunchtimes you will find the restaurant booked out, so it pays to make a booking by phone before you go.

After seeing so many reviews on Menus.co.uk of this restaurant, I had to try it out for Yum Char. Sunday dining was packed which is always a sign of good food. It was tasty, fresh and child friendly. It was pretty compact eating but still very nice and we will definitely be back. If your lucky you might see a "celeb" or two as well.

As far as Chinese restaurants go, Grand Harbour is boss. If I had the money to dine here every week and if I lived in the area, I would have already worked my way through their menu. I recommend the hot and sour soup - that's one of my favourites. Can't get enough of the dimsum, love the roast duck and seafood. Come here with a big appetite. I sure do - my family would have to slap my hand so I wouldn't eat off their plates as well. All in all - excellent! Service is fantastic! There's no wonder you have to muscle your way in because a lot of people have tasted Grand Harbour dishes.

Excellent Yum Char! Easily in the top 3 of Auckland! Fully authentic menu and beautiful place to eat. At the expensive end of the Yum Char chain, but you definitely get the 5 star Yum Char that you pay for! Highly recommend this to anyone who thinks they know about Yum Char!

My favourite Yum Cha! The best and authentic Hong Kong styled Yum Char you can find in Auckland City! They have those delicious Prawn Dumplings (Har Gow), yummy dessert made from Soya Bean - silky and soft (Tau Foo Fah). My family and friends came over visiting me recently and was finding hard to adjust to the Western food here, I brought them here and from then on over the 2 weeks they are here, they say this is the best and they kept asking me to bring them here before they leave Auckland, cos they never thought they could find such good Asian Food in Auckland city!

The best Yum Cha I have had in ages. Mouth-watering food. The variety of dishes to choose from is quite extensive. The service was a bit of a let down however the food made up for everything. A little bit more expensive than the rest… but definitely worth it :) It’s always packed and hence you need to make a booking or get in really early.

This is my fav Yumcha place in New Zealand where you can have one of the largest selections of dimsums. Try the sticky rice ball wrapped with lotus leaf or the little prawn dumplings. If you can't find the one you like, ask one of the managers - not the ones who's pushing the trolley but the ones walking around in black jacket. Weekend lunch is the busiest time so expect to wait even when you made a booking.

Great yum cha, excellent for large groups. The variety of dishes to choose from is quite extensive compared to some other yum cha places. As with most yum cha restaurants, it gets fully packed and it's totally noisy but it just adds to the atmosphere.

Excellent food! Terrible service! Took ages for them to take our order, ages for the food to get to us, although when it did come, it was lovely. Not very good explanation or communication in English, and to top it all off, the same waiter stood on my foot three times! Goes to say - appearances can be very deceiving. However, cannot fault the food. ;-)
