Altitude is owned by leading Wellington Restaurateur John McGrath who has owned over a dozen successful restaurants and bars with his flagship restaurant being Crazyhorse the Steakhouse in Wellington.

Altitude now in its fourth year has quickly become one of Ohakune's leading hospitality destinations. Commanding the most stunning view of Turoa Ski field, with a Swiss like log cabin design which features a long native wooden bar, large dining room and comfortable lounge area creating the perfect relaxing aprs ski atmosphere.

Our food is about saucing and show casing the finest of local ingredients presented in a classical New Zealand lodge style. We will also be offering authentic Malaysian food this season and Malaysian takeaways.

We have a great wine list and selection of cocktails and we offer you a warm and friendly style of service that is well informed and sensitive to the individual diners' requirements.

This was by far the worst restaurant i've ever visited in my life. The order took 50min+ just to get the first menu and it tasted worse than the frozen instant food. They told us that we will be getting a full refund if the food is not served with in the first 45min but later we were refused.
