A qualified piano and keyboard teacher, Caroline Joy has taught students of all styles and abilities for the past 20 years.
She is classically trained but also experiened at teaching everything from classical to pop, including jazz and theory.
She tailors her lessons to suit the student, ensuring their enthusiasm for music is encouraged and maintained. Caroline teaches from her home in Sydenham on Mondays and Saturdays and all lessons are one-on-one.
Prices are negotiable if you're booking for more than one student but here is a guide:
$30: 20 minute beginner lesson
$40: 30 minute intermediate lesson
$60: One hour intermediate lesson or two 30 minute beginner lessons
Some students like to do exams, some learn purely for their own pleasure. Caroline believes she can teach anyone who wants to learn - regardless of their reason for taking up music. While not compulsory, she encourages students to study music theory - giving them a more rounded understanding of music.
Being a seasoned performer, Caroline has plenty of contacts in the music business and can help you get on the gig circuit if that is what you'd like to do. She has been writing her own music for years, so can also help students embark on this exciting journey.
