Kahikatea Gardens is a 5 acre country garden open to the public and a boutique wedding & function venue.
We specialize in smaller daytime groups serving delicious platters & desserts on antique china. We have our own marquee with garden windows and also the "Music Room" featuring a leadlight dome is also available incase of inclement weather.
Kahikatea Gardens feature old totara & titoki trees, rhododendrens, camilleas and other flowering trees & shrubs which provide a continuous range of colour throughout the year. Totara post & rail fences are a feature of the garden as are the rustic horse drawn farm implements now draped with climbing roses.
Excess produce from the large vegetable garden and the fruit & nut trees are made into the "Rexworthy Cottage" range of delicious chutneys and jams. Walnuts are cold pressed on site to make walnut oil - a very good source of Omega 3 and 6.
At Kahikatea Gardens, friendly animals are a feature and include Jordan the donkey, Helen the goat, alpacas Miss Peru and Bolivia. We also have black/coloured sheep and miniature horses which children love to feed and pat. The horses are trained for harness and we have a selection for sale.
