Natural Learning

Hello to those parents out there who are returning to the work-force after maternity/paternity leave and are in search of a day-care/home-base place for your precious one. This I know can be the most daunting task for any parent. Having had two young ones I have had the experience of both home-care (Barnardos) and Day-care (Natural Learning) and for two totally different reasons (health-related) and I can truly say that my children have been blessed with both worlds. However, my baby son who is currently 11 months old was enrolled in January of this year in Natural Learning and the bench-marks he has been able to reach in the short time he's been there has met our expectations and beyond. I believe the difference between day-care and home-based care is the wider interactions our son is having with both adults and children of his own age and above. He has built confidence and is not so afraid with meeting others. Also, the stimulating environment they provide and the vast range of activities that they are able to offer him. Both my husband and I have seen great strides in our son's learning and the mile-stones he has reached (crawling, communicating etc.) and we are so thankful to Natural Learning for being a big part of this. Not only are we (my son and I) greeted each morning and afternoon with such friendly and caring staff members but they also have a great relationship with the Doctor who is just next door to the centre. He visits the centre on a weekly basis to check up on our precious one at our request. This is such a bonus for the centre as it saves time booking an outside appointment. There is also a pharmacy attached to the Doctor centre where I can pick up my son's prescriptions all in one go. The centre will even take the time to take your child over there if they are concerned with any health-related issues - now how's that for service. Their hours of opening are excellent (7am-6pm) which helps us get through the traffic to and from work and their fees are reasonable in comparison to other centres. So to those parents who are still considering, searching or indecisive I highly recommend that you check this centre out - they're a great outfit. They recently organised a 'Fish 'n Chip' night as a way of meeting staff and other parents of the centre - fantastic idea. Keep up the great work Natural Learning, Delta Avenue, New Lynn! To Natural learning centre team at Newlynn. 06 May 2010 To the Manager, My name is Anna Muryunda, Nanjeke Olivia Muyunda age 10 months is my daughter, she joined your centre sometime in February 2010, when I decided to go back to work. Being the first time mum I was very worried, did not want to leave her and I did not think I was making the right choice considering. I was made comfortable and assured that you would look after my daughter as well as I would have. Over those last weeks, I have been observing my daughter’s developments, and I would say I am very impressed with what she can do. She is able to tell the difference between bye and hi (by ways of waving), most importantly she is very happy and loves hugs ( I guess that’s her love language and should be encouraged). The staff are very nice and caring and I feel comfortable leaving her each morning. As you know its her last day Friday as she moves to a day care closer to her grandma who will be picking her up. Also since I might not come pick her up after school, I just thought I should take a minute for my time to sincerely THANK YOU AND YOUR STAFF AT THE CENTRE, for everything you have done so far in Nanjeke’s life. I believe her very first few years of her life are very important and its important to my husband and myself the Nanjeke gets the best we can offer her. Well done the entire staff and teachers of Natural Learning. I am thanking you all on behalf of Marvelous for a job well done. Before Marvelous came into your school you couldn’t understand what he was saying but now he is improving and doing well. Once more I say thank you all. Hannah.
