As a father of a 3 year old son, I am constantly amazed as his level of understanding for someone so young. It's great to see that the teachers support and foster his love of learning and extend his thinking in new ways.
It saddens me in the morning when I drop him off because he is like a bull at the gate and just wants to get on with the days activities and go and play with his friends. The up side of this is that you just feel so comfortable within the centre and the people within it. I know that my boy is happy. When I do get to pick him up in the afternoon he cant wait to tell me about all the activities he has done during the day, and all the special things he has enjoyed.
An aspect of the centre that I really enjoy is how the staff and Centre Manager engage with me in conversation and have a warm, welcoming and friendly manner which I think would give any parent peace of mind knowing that their child is in capable hands. The Centre Manager is particularly professional. She is approachable, knowledgable and always has time to speak with me about any questions I may have about my child's day. I have experienced on many occassions Raewyn the Centre Manager proactive with staff, children and other parents, and this gives me great confidence knowing that all are catered for at the centre.

I want to say a huge thank you to the terrific ladies who work at FIRST STEPS WATTLE DOWNS. My son starting attending fulltime when he was 14 months old. The centre was so wonderful in actively supporting my decision to continue breastfeeding my son and the nursery staff were very welcoming and understanding with my frequent visits. The team were respectful and courteous and provide a warm, stimulating and engaging environment which was conjusive for both learning and nurturing and establishing new relationships.
As a parent it is exceptionally difficult to hand over your blessed child to those of another. The team however were so welcoming and positive and made me feel valued and important in his daycare experience.

This is by far the best daycare i have seen, My baby Maddison started in January and i was extremely uncomfortable leaving her as i have never done so in the past. Anjala and the rest of the staff made the process so much easier and now i never worry about her because i know she is safe and well cared for. Keep up the great work guys you all deserve a medal!
Thanks Aimee xx

My son started going there when he was 2 weeks old, I know very young, but that is life. It helped us with the settling in period and as any new parents will know to be re assured that your child is in the best care.
The staff at First Steps Wattle Downs are amazing as well as the Centre Manager there Raewyn, they all know my son's needs as they have known him since he was 2 weeks old, my little monkey is now 3 1/2 and he just loves it there.

Meadow has been at daycare for 4 weeks now. From the moment I arrived at First Steps Wattle Downs, I was greeted with such warmth and respect. I knew this would be the place Meadow would spend her days. The teachers in the under two's are so kind and caring. Every morning I get Meadow out of the car her legs are kicking and she is looking for all her new friends.
All the teachers take Meadow in the morning and she has willingly gone with all of them - and children are a good judge of charachter. The room is always clean and no matter what time I collect Meadow her bib is always dry and she is smiling.
For a working parent you always have the guilt of working so finding First Steps Wattle Downs at least made me happy seing how happy Meadow is. I sing First Steps praises to all my friends and family and would be at ease if any of them put their babies in.

When we enquired about a placement for our son at the baby centre we experienced a warm and friendly welcome. We were very happy to tour both centres. The baby centre was bright and colourful and the changes made to the preschool were impressive.
Resources are plentiful within both centres and the atmosphere felt good.
The enrolment process was made simple by the Centre Manager and the staff involved.
All the staff have been very pleasant, approachable, helpful and accomodating to our needs, in allowing us to feel comfortable with our son settling into their environment.
The children have been amazing and being able to spend time in the centre has been very comforting and enjoyable. Our school aged daughter has also been able to spend time with the children and she is made to feel at home within the centre.
The portfolio is excellent and will be a treasured keepsake. Our family have really enjoyed reading what our son has been up to and the photos have been fantastic. The photos just make it so much more special, as you get to see what you are missing.
Our son is happy, is familiar with his centre, has adapted well and is learning and developing very nicely in everyone's care.
Thank you to everyone.

I am not worried at all when I drop Malakai at kindy. When he attends kindy he always comes home content and happy, then after about half an hour at home he is ready to sleep for the night. This tells me that he is active throughout the whole day, and although I do miss him a lot during the day, I know he is in good hands and is well looked after. On days when I am curious how his day is going or whether he didn't seem quite right before I leave him to head off to work, I ring the kindy to check on his progress. All the teachers are willing to answer any of my questions, and give me updates on his progress for the day. I really like all the teachers that look after Malakai. You are all caring, helpful and cheerful and I can see you all really love to look after Malakai. He also loves his teachers and has a huge smile on his face. Thanks for caring for our son and keeping him safe and happy.

I am convinced my Grandson is learning in a safe and loving environment. I have enjoyed watching him become more indepenent of his Mum. Great for both of them. Being at the centre is like being with extended family.
