Internet music course.
My name is Clive Cockburn. I have been a professional NZ composer for film and television for over thirty years and in that time I have won national and international awards (see my website... www.nzfilmcomposer.com)
Over the last ten years I have written and hosted my own music course - The Writing Musician. I have spent the last year, producing the first five subjects in over three hours of lessons and a hundred visually interesting video clips that stream very quickly on the internet. The course of value to both beginning and advanced students as they can start and end wherever they need and so take just what they want from it.
"this is an appealing, comprehensive multi-level programme which sits well with current learning objectives - and affordable also." Stephanie Lees, Teacher and Education Manager - NZ Music Commission.
The cost is just $25 per subject (for 6 months) or all five together for $100 (for 1 year)
Each subject has a free 'introduction' (overview) and/or a free 'preview - scenes from the subject'
The site is faster and easier to navigate than a dvd
The clips can be paused and replayed as often as needed
Each clip is less than four minutes so very fast to stream
On the 'Subjects' page, the clip 'TWM for Music Teachers' shows how the course could assist a teacher in a classroom and the clip "You, the course and the website" is very helpful to first time visitors.
Jon Bowen, Assistant Principal, HOD Performing Arts and Music, St Peters College, Palmerston North writes -
"I love the way you've explained some of your theory - very clear and concise. Working my way through your material. Thanks for taking the time - it's an amazing resource."
The ~Writing for Drums(TM), ~Chords and Harmony(TM), ~Voicings(TM) and ~Two-Part Writing(TM) subjects, involve techniques that I learned at the Grove School of Music in Los Angeles.
