My name is Lyndsay Morgan and I am a Karitane Nurse, trained under the guidance of Plunket at Karitane hospital in Wanganui. Karitane nurses have not been trained in New Zealand since the mid '70's and therefore we are unique in the field of childcare.
After 16 months of training with babies from birth to 3 years, I then took my expertise into the homes of families to help and advise them through all sorts of situations such as the arrival of a new baby, setting babies into healthy routines and helping babies to sleep through the night. My expertise also includes the appropriate routines, play and therefore education of toddlers. On many occations I have also taken sole charge of children whilst their parents were on a holiday, at a conference or at weddings etc.
During the time I have spent caring for children, I have been involved with a set of quadruplets, 3 sets of triplets and many many sets of twins.. I have worked in both the United Kingdom and Australia and also many parts of New Zealand.
I am now in my 60's, play tennis 3 times a week, regularly walk up Mount Maunganui and belong to a walking group. I am fit and healthy.
