Fullcircle Recycling, a division of Carter Holt Harvey, plays a pivotal role in closing the environmental loop in New Zealand. We collect over 250,000 tonnes of cardboard and paper products every year and recycle 225,000 tonnes of this in our own paper mills located in Auckland and Kinleith. By using the material locally we conserve New Zealand's valuable resources, divert material from landfills and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by not exporting the material from New Zealand.

This unique position makes Carter Holt Harvey the ONLY New Zealand Company which recycles its own manufactured packaging products back into paper & cardboard to be reused within the local packaging industry. We are also one of New Zealand's largest suppliers of natural and sustainable packaging materials. We are unashamedly proud of this position and promote this as a major point of difference between our service offering and those of others in New Zealand.

Fullcircle Recycling has been recycling cardboard and paper in New Zealand for over fifty years and over this time has implemented many innovative and cost effective recycling programs for our customers. We currently provide recycling services to many of New Zealand's largest blue chip companies through to small independently owned businesses from Kaikohe in the North to Stewart Island in the South. Importantly, we are a dedicated recycling business and obtain no financial benefit from collecting or disposing of solid waste so is focused on diverting as much recyclable material from the waste stream as possible. This ensures we have no conflicting agenda's when considering offering services to our customers.

Furthermore, we are a dedicated recycling business and do not own solid waste disposal facilities. We therefore have everything to gain from diverting recyclable materials from the waste stream as we do not profit from collecting, processing or disposing of waste. This is in contrast to a number of recycling service providers in New Zealand.

Having been involved in recycling programs for many years we understand our individual client's needs are unique and therefore require specific solutions. Further to the sustainability benefits arising from being a vertically integrated company, Fullcircle Recycling also benefits from having secure domestic buyers of the cardboard and paper we collect. This reduces our exposure to the cyclical global commodity prices and a strong New Zealand dollar and allows us, in tough economic times, to offset any losses on the collection and processing of the cardboard and paper when we sell it as finished product from our paper mills. Those without this benefit simply lose money and may be inclined to reduce their services in favour of land-filling recyclable material.
