I have been an independent midwife in Nelson, New Zealand for the past 18 years.
I visit you in your home and encourage family involvement. It is a joy to involve toddlers and other children in my ante natal visits. My philosophy is to encourage normal birth with as little intervention as possible but I would not hesitate to refer to a specialist if there were any concerns about you or your baby.
The timing of my visits are tailored to your needs with follow up after the birth for 6 weeks. I am a strong advocate for breast feeding and have good success with supporting women in that area.
