19th April 2011 Holy crap, Velvet Burger burgers are Uh-MAY-zing. I've heard fables from my friends who studied in Dunedin but they did no justice to the succulent opulence I ended up experiencing. Kudos. Create more branches, please. Will buy more, especially when hungover.
The staff are friendly, fast-serving and knowledgeable as to what burger fits best at the time of the night (and also the circumstances the night finds you in...). The burgers are cooked fresh and you can literally -tell- that the ingredients used are of premium grade. I have never liked vegetarian burgers much, but Velvet does it right.
The Auckland (Fort St) branch is a homely, spacious wood-themed area with a central kitchen. Well designed and very comfortable.
