Children need to move to stimulate both their body & their brain. Studies show that the first five years of a child(TM)s life are crucial for later health & wellbeing. Research also shows children are spending less time moving in their early years resulting in problems with motor development, cognition & health.
Head Start was developed by Anna Baker (Occupational Therapist) & Mark Shirley (Physiotherapist) in response to this trend and will show you how you can make the most of these crucial years. Parents attend classes alongside their child and participate in a variety of activities to develop foundational movement, cognition & language skills; the building blocks for future formal learning, sport, self-confidence & esteem. Each class includes activity suggestions for you to complete with your child at home. Class numbers are limited to allow individual attention.
