The Anchor Restaurant and Bar is a family friendly steak and seafood restaurant that is the perfect place to meet friends for a drink and/or snack. You'll find us at the Port of Nelson, situated adjacent to the Nelson Yacht Marina.

The Anchor Restaurant and Bar only uses the freshest local produce and ingredients, including locally caught fish. You will find the atmosphere warm and friendly with a unique character, real service and excellent food all at a sensible price.

It has seating for around 100 patrons inside and around 50 outside. We think that we are the best steak and seafood restaurant in Nelson, however you will find that our menu has something for everyone - including vegetarian meals and gluten or lactose free options.

We are happy to cater for your next function and have a variety of set menus to suit all tastes and occasions. Please call us to discuss your requirements, see our website or pop in today.

I was pleasantly surprised by The Anchor. I found the entire surroundings clean and with great light. The clearview folders of jokes, was a cute touch. And I was very impressed with the 'actual' seafood amount in the chowder. It was terrible weather, and we were nervous of being near the door, but the whole place was warm. Service was prompt and with a smile. Thanks.
