I ordered takeaway and had it delivered to my house. The one good point was that the delivery itself was brilliant, but it all went downhill from there. I ordered 2 curries - one was a Lamb Vindaloo. Hardly spicy at all, the lamb was overcooked and it sat in this pool of thin liquid and oil like a soup. Not like any other Lamb Vindaloo I've ever had. The Navratan Korma was my other dish and it was so consumed with coconut milk it was difficult to taste any of the other flavours. There was no effort put into the vegetables, which had the consistency of being from a frozen package. Again - it was over soupy and not like any other curry I've had before. Finally - the rice had clearly not been cooked fresh and was crumbly, dry and a horrible texture to eat. If I pushed some of my food off to the side of my plate, I was left with a pool of water in it's place. I ended up throwing out most of the meal as I simply could not eat it. I decided to call Indus to give them feedback on their meal and all I was told was that they have NEVER had any other complaints before and were shocked to hear that I could possibly not enjoy my meal. They told me they checked with the chef and couldn't see why I was upset with my meal - even justified the rice to saying that yes, it was re-heated from the day before (having been frozen overnight), but that ALL restaurants do that. They refused to give me a refund and offered instead a discounted rate on my next purchase. I said that given my experience I had no intention of ever ordering from them again so a discount was irrelevant. Out of all the brilliant Indian restaurants in Wellington, Indus is not one that I would recommend. Particularly when it wasn't even as good as going to the food court at the mall.
