I love the sushimi at Yuzu and the lady who serves is always very friendly. When I lived in Ponsonby this was my favourite place to eat on Ponsonby road. Also conveniently close to The Chapel. There is always people eating in here which i thikn is testament to the great food and service. Would love it if they started serving alcohol.

His bursting resume of experience includes time at well known hotels such as Hotel Okura Tokyo and Hotel Shilla Seoul where he extended his career as a professional Japanese chef. His 20 years experience within the industry will lead you to a fine dining with beautifully presented authentic Japanese dishes at Yuzu.

The chef's dedication to sourcing quality and fresh ingredients promises the best taste for every menu and it has been already praised by many Yuzu's regular customers.

At Yuzu Japanese Restaurant we offer fine Japanese cuisine. We have a lovely ambiance with outdoor seating available.
We also offer Japanese beer, sake and wine.

Beautiful food -- clean tastes, good ingredients, all the usual suspects and a few excellent extras; the New Style Sashimi is one of the best things I've eaten -- and good service (a little slow, maybe, but super-polite and warm). I'm going back as soon as I can. It's not licensed (not even BYO) so while it always seems to be busy -- as it should be, given the quality and value for money -- patrons are in and out pretty quickly, so don't be afraid to grab a seat in a corner and wait for a table.
