20th December 2013 A couple of years ago Julian worked with me to create a stunning sword pendant incorporating my favourite gemstones. I love this pendant so much that i never take it off, and have had admiring comments on it from people (including other jewelers) all over the world. I particularly appreciate and admire his eye for detail and his ability to truly get a feel for what you, as an individual want, while at the same time exceeding expectations with innovation and attention to detail. Julian is a true artist and perfectionist, who is able to give you something truly unique and special. He is a young NZ talent, dedicated to his work and is also a great guy. Highly recommend.

18th October 2013 I could not be happier with my engagement ring that Julian crafted. I use the word 'craft' quite intentionally, Julian's skill and attention to detail are amazing. After having looked at rings at chain jewellery stores, I know that the level of finish of my ring is special.
One of the best things about Julian's service is that he listens to what you want, making suggestions along the way, and making sure that he is absolutely clear on what your expectations for the end product are (although my expectations were exceeded when I saw my ring for the first time!).
I would not, and have not, hesitated to recommend Julian to anyone wanting to create bespoke pieces of jewellery.

12th February 2012 I first heard about Julian Bartrom from his brother Ray, who is now my husband. I quote Ray: "My brother Julian is a very talented jeweler. He will be famous one day!" After getting to know Julian and his work, I couldn't agree more with that statement. When Ray and I decided to be married, we knew who was going to make my engagement ring and our wedding bands. It sure is nice to have a talented jeweler in the family. :)
Due to living on different continents, most of our discussions happened over skype, which could seem challenging but Julian made it a very pleasant experience. His professional demeanor, knowledge, patience and understanding made me trust him entirely. I learned a lot about diamonds throughout the process. I hadn't realized how many different types and cuts of diamonds there are. Julian's detailed descriptions and advice were extremely helpful. His work comes from his heart; his passion to create life lasting pieces of art and to provide an excellent client experience are his forte.
When I first saw my engagement ring, it took my breath away and left me speechless for a few minutes. Albeit my expectations were high, it turned out so much better than I could ever imagine. It's not just the dazzling diamond but also Julian's magic touch and pure love for his work that animated the ring. Thank you Julian for giving us the gift of life long beauty and memories! It was a true delight and honor to work with you!

14th April 2011 Stunning design of my emerald ring, listened to my dream and created just what I had imagined. Superb customer service: attention to detail in interpreting my requirements, very knowledgeable about metals and gems and obviously a skilled craftsman. A delightful experience to go to Julian Bartrom's workshop and be shown his jewellery pieces - absolutely awesome pieces actually. Thanks Julian. I'd rate you 10/10 in all areas
