Whole Body Dentistry
'Whole Body Dentistry' in simple terms means the body is interlinked and the mouth, jaws and the muscles and nerves that control them are linked to all the other parts of the body. Alter one part and the rest has to compensate.
Sleep Apnoea:
Sleep apnoea caused by a blockage of the airway, usually when the soft tissue in the rear of the throat collapses and closes during sleep. In cental sleep apnoea, the airway is not blocked but the brain fails to signal the muscles to breathe.
Untreated, sleep apnoea can cause high blood pressure and other cardiovascular disease, memory problems, weight gain, impotency, and headaches.

TMJ Anatomy
"The TMJ is a hinge and gliding joint and is the most constantly used joint in the body. The round upper end of the lower jaw, or the movable portion of the joint, is called the condyle; the socket is called the articular fossa. Between the condyle and the fossa is a disk made of cartilage that acts as a cushion to absorb stress and allows the condyle to move easily when the mouth opens and closes".
Craniofacial - Pain
What is it?
Where does it appear?
How does it affect you?
Craniofacial pain is any form of pain that is felt in the area of shoulders and above. This includes the neck, throat, shoulders, face, jaws and skull. The cause may not be in the area where the pain is felt. So this includes "referred pain."
