AGL Rental Cars is a local, family-owned rental car agency with a couple dozen vehicles, and Graeme (the owner) was very responsive to my initial inquiry and very professional in dealing with us. Over the 6 days my wife and I had the car it performed well in every respect.

We were in New Plymouth for the 2013 World of Music and Dance (WOMAD) festival and needed to hire a car for touring the North Island. I was getting discouraged at finding a decent, affordable rental car until I came across AGL. Their prices were very reasonable, they delivered the car to the place we were staying, the car was immaculate, and it even included AA maps of the cities we planned to visit! On top of this, when we unexpectedly had to cut 2 days off of our trip, AGL generously granted us a refund for the early return of the car. We have no hesitation in recommending AGL.

AGL Rentals provides Gold level service. Dealing with AGL Rentals recently when we broke down at hr out of NP was like stepping back in time to when people really cared about their customer and kind of quality customer service provided. AGL Rentals provided the best customer service I have experienced ever and it is the kind of service many many businesses could learn from.. 'You're in trouble and we have to help.. nothings too much trouble' were Grahams comments.. and he went all out (when none of the other 'Major' rentals companies would) to transfer a capable and reliable vehicle out to us at Mokau, so we could continue our travel North while our broken one was fixed.. Would I recommend them..? Absolutely.. ! Would I use them again - without a doubt!
