RD1 - Who are we?
RD1 is New Zealand's largest retailer of agricultural services to dairy farmers. Owned by Fonterra and Landmark (Australia, we have a combined procurement base of over $2 billion. Our objective is to use our buying power to provide competitive farm inputs to the rural sector. We operate a network of over 50 stores nationwide, with more planned.
Across New Zealand we have a technical sales force of more than 40 skilled individuals who work on farm with customers to help optimise their business. The company's Operations Support office is based in the heart of Waikato dairy farming territory in Hamilton, and there is a dedicated Customer Service centre in another predominantly rural service city, Whangarei.
Focused primarily on the dairy sector through our involvement with Fonterra, RD1 has also developed a strong foothold in the 'dry' market of lifestylers, dry stock farmers and horticulturalists.
RD1 employs just over 400 people. We've been part of rural New Zealand for more than 100 years and over 90% of our staff are related in some way to dairy farming. We know dairy farming...it's in our blood.
