King is a good listener and attender. It's getting better and better, it can explain in how people comes from afar just to see Dr Peter King as a family doctor. 9th November 2010 While the doctors at this practice are good, caring people; the reception staff can be very rude and unhelpful, sometimes even to the extent of knowingly endangering and damaging patients' health.
On one particular occasion, the staff member even accused me of blackmailing her when I told her that I would have to go to a different practice and temporarily sign up with them (the new practice required this for funding reasons) if I could not be seen that day (my request was that they allowed me to arrive up to two minutes after they usually let their last patient into their no-appointment practice so I could have medical attention for a condition that a Healthline nurse had just told me needed to be treated very urgently - it was denied).
She was so unneccesarily and unexpectedly rude to me during this conversation that I ended up crying so much that I was unable to finish the conversation and eventually had to hang up.
These incidents are isolated, and only some of the reception staff display these qualities - some are always polite and helpful; however they are bad enough when they happen that I would not recommend this practice to anyone. This is a pity, as if it were not for these faults on the part of some of their reception staff, this would be a good, affordable practice that does great work for the community.
