After we moved into our house in 2002, we had to repaint the bathroom in 2004 because of the paint starting to peel and mould forming on the walls and ceiling. The bathroom has an extractor fan.

In 2006 we had to redo the bathroom and used anti-mould paint. This did not last either, and in 2009 we had to repaint again when the bathroom really became unsightly.

Our builder suggested the installation of a Showerdome, and so we did.

Now in 2012, the bathroom walls and ceiling still look pristine. No mould, no peeling of the paint. A great return on investment as it saves us the cost of having to repaint and the inconvenience of having a dirty looking bathroom!

Simply Install a Showerdome and enjoy the benefits of a drier, healthier home. Moisture control, prevents mildew, mould and damp, prevents steam forming, keeps you warm in the shower, saves power.

There are 10 different shapes and sizes of Showerdomes to fit most existing and new showers on the market.

Showerdome is a clear acrylic dome that simply attaches to an existing shower cubicle to prevent steam from forming in the bathroom.

To create steam 2 components are required. Warm moist air (coming out the shower rose), and cold air (in the bathroom). It is only when these two components meet, that steam is formed.

Warm water on it's own can't make steam.

By placing a Showerdome on the shower cubicle, the cold air in the bathroom can't get in to mix with warm moist air that the shower creates, and therefore NO steam is created either in the bathroom, or in the shower cubicle.

You end up with a warm toasty shower cubicle, and a dry steam free bathroom.

The benefits of having a dry bathroom are huge:

No mould or mildew on the walls and ceilings.
No requirement to run expensive extractor fans (you don't have to 'extract steam' if you don't make it in the first place).
No misted mirrors
No need to open a window to let the steam escape.
No paint damage caused by moisture.

There are also numerous health benefits to having a drier home. Mould and mildew are unhealthy, and having damp bathrooms, leads to damp bedrooms and furnishings.

Showerdome was invented in New Zealand by Ken Evans of Tauranga.

Showerdome is a New Zealand owned and operated company, and all Showerdomes are still manufactured in Tauranga, New Zealand.

There are 10 different shapes and sizes, and each model is blown on to a blank of either 1m x 1m or 1.2m x 1.2m square, and is then trimmed to custom fit at the time of installation.

I have one they are fabulous - Joanne, Auckland Recently I bought a showerdome from Albany Mitre 10. I'd just like to say that just a few items (only two actually) I have ever purchased have ever made me think they were among the best I have ever purchased. My Showerdome is one of them. I bought mine on a recommendation from a friend, and after spending a lot of money on a renovation which would probably not have been necessary if not because of dampness causing major damage, I wanted to make sure my new bathroom was kept dry. The renovation was on a cold, south facing extension which gets no sun for around three months of every year. Previously my dehumidifier would run all night and my windows would still be damp. Now, I turn my dehumidifier on at night and off in the morning and the bathroom is actually drier than the bedroom, also the ensuite door no longer bows with the dampness. I now have a 2 sided glass shower with a Showerdome, my shower is now nice and warm, doesn't need to be turned up nearly as hot as before and I no longer dread turning off the shower for fear of freezing to death. They say the simplest products are sometimes the best and I'd just like to say yours is awesome. I have recommended a Showerdome to a number of friends who are also very happy with theirs. Hi there, When my wife suggested we fit a showerdome I was very skeptical that it would work. I mean to say, claims of bathrooms remaining dry and no misting on mirrors and feeling warmer in the shower because its draft free - well, it all sounded like advertising hype winning out over truth. Anyway, as my wife insisted, we installed the showerdome. I did the installation and it and it wasn't difficult and it went without trouble but, having worked with acrylic in the past, I knew that it might be an expensive decision as it is easy to crack when cutting or drilling - so be warned if you try it yourself. So how does it perform? Absolutely bloody sensational ! It does everything that it claims and without any overstatement. And we will now be putting a showerdome on the other shower in the house and that also goes for any other house we live in, in the future. This simple device surely has to be the most cheap and effective way of reducing condensation and associated mould and mildew in bathrooms. And by the way, we live in Whangarei which is one damp, humid environment. I do have one complaint, we also paid to get an extractor fan fitted - it has proved to be completely uneeded.
