We decided to take our staff to Kermadec on Monday night to say farewell to one of our employees. The meals were very nice, however the options were limited, due to the restaurant having no oysters, or Hapuka that night. The employee leaving was very excited about having salmon as their main, but that was also not possible. The venue was beautiful, with a great view. The service could have been better. It certainly wasn't fine dining service, but we were in the brasserie, as their other restaurant wasn't open that night. One of our staff didn't like seafood, and we were pleased that there were yummy options for him. However,he did ask for no anchovies with the ceasar salad, and it still arrived with anchovies. Not a big deal, but as it was my first time, and I was so looking forward to it, I felt that at times the finishing touches that you expect from a top restaurant were not there. Maybe that was because the restaurant was closed and we were dining in the brasserie.

The service was great with our waiter going out of his way for us. But we were very disappointed int he food and in fact found some of the food appalling. We had the pork belly it was dry and tasteless and the servings were too small. for the price of $36 it was very poor. Another in our party had the platter for 2 people for $86 and she had food poisoning all night. The Oysters were wonderful but the other food apart from the prawns were oily and ho hum. for what is considered one of Aucklands top seafood restaurants they need to review their food and freshen up their tired decor.

I recently dined at Kermadec's fine dining Restaurant with some clients. Now the Seafood Brasserie is where I normally eat my favourite dish at Kermadec, the Stewart Island Blue Cod Fish n Chips (I'm a bloke, with simple tastes), and that side of the venue has a great view. What struck we straight away when walking in the restaurant part was the view, and how much better it is especially at night. Interestingly for Kermadec we three of our five tried either the beef or duck, and I have to say every meal was fantastic. The food here is world class, as is the view. AND so are the staff -- our waiter was without question the most knowledgeable I have come across in a long time. His passion for the place was raw & energetic. END RESULT a successful business dinner. Next time though I will take my wife. WHY, because the location must be the most romantic in Auckland. WOW what a view.

I would highly recommend the Kermadec fine dining restaurant. We had dinner there on a Friday night. The ambiance was perfect and the food was excellent. It was our first time there and it exceeded our expectations. The scallop sashimi was sublime.

This was the third time i have been and each time i go i would describe the food as 'mouth orgasms'. Everything tastes divine and they have a fabulous wine list. It was a very intimate dining experience with very attentive staff. we had the platter, fresh delicious food with amazing sauces, my favourite was the rocket and parmesan salad. Definitely reccommend, it would make a very impressive date location!

I recently dined at the Kermadec Restaurant and had a fantastic experience! I had heard the promotion for the Winter Classics Evening and thought it sounded perfect for myself and partner. We went on a Friday night and the food and service was amazing. Fantastic having the live pianist there also. I went for the beef option and it was perfect, my partner had the Fish and he was equally as impressed. A+ Kermadec, one of Auckland's finest!!

Delighted with our Kermadec dinner experience last week. Our waiter was incredibly attentive and offered advice on our food selection including little titbits of info not mentioned on the menu. The chef gave us a complementary entree which was an unexpected bonus. The live piano was a nice touch also. Because of price it's somewhere I'd save for a special occasion but definitely an enjoyable and very tasty meal.

I recently dined for lunch at Kermdaec with my grandparents as they are not from Auckland and wanted to show them the great view Kermadec (Auckland Viaduct) has to offer, not only was the service exceptional but we ended up getting an entree each as well as sharing the seafood platter which was generously served. Was a great meal to share and was very pleased with the overall experience.

My family went to Kermadec for lunch on the 3rd October as it is one of the restaurants in the Auckland Entertainment Book, and it featured on Masterchef NZ. My husband had steak which he said was fine, not bad but also not mindblowing. Our 3 year old son had the fish and chips which was rather nice and he ate all of the fish, which I think says something. However, I had one of the days specials, the bouillabaisse, which as it turned out, had two mussels, two cockles, a piece of fish and one prawn, which for $39 was rather tragic. The staff were pleasant, but the restaurant setting was really tired and in need of a makeover. Not exactly what you'd expect from a restaurant which seems to have such a big reputation.

came here because our usual haunt on the water couldn't accommodate us and was pleasantly surprised..from the rustic yet modern feeling architectural design to the perfectly formed wine list everything was top notch (and the prices reflected this). Definately recommend anything seafood from here - I was with a party of 4 and we all ordered different seafood dishes.

We went for our 15th wedding anniversary and the food was exceptional, a complimentary glass of bubbles was lovely of the. The menu was really varied and we had a fabulous meal and enjoyed overlooking the viaduct with the lights, water and boats etc, however the venue itself is looking a bit tired.

Having been to Kermedec on two seperate occasion the first of which was very memorable, the second one left alittle more to be desired. During the first occasion we ordered the hot seafood platter. The platter was amazing and it was a huge platter, consisting of all sorts of seafood from snapper and hapuka fillets to an array of shellfish! Everythign on th pllater was cooked perfectly, we were soo stuffed after! azmaing experience. The staff were great, very friendly and knowledgable. The second occasion however was alittle dissapointing, althought the food was still good the service was rather average with the food taking alittle whiel to arrive in between courses. Aside from that, everything was good!

AMAZING FOOD WITH AWESOME VIEW! I fell in love with the fabulous food and amazing view when I first came to this country. They served the freshest seafoods, great service, I felt it's worth for what I have paid and get! good service too! I Love the Creme Brulee served, one scooped in and it feels like melting in you mouth, the tempting aromas of the vanilla, smooth milky brulee ... ooh!!! It's so delicious!!!

Awesome views and great food makes this a truly beautiful restaurant to celebrate an ocassion. The seafood platter for two had the freshest seafood I have tasted in any Auckland restaurant and the prawns there were to die for. However make sure you have plenty of wine... it helps to be drunk when you open the bill folder! :)

DELICIOUS FOOD, service was good and the atmosphere was equally pleasing. Very expensive but the food is at such a A+ quality that the cost seems irrelevant. Great for special occassions.

Chose Kermadec by reputation (heard it mentioned on TV)so was a little underwhelmed. Meals were nice, no complaints, but not up to the expectation I had.

Chose Kermadec by reputation (heard it mentioned on TV)so was a little underwhelmed. Meals were nice, no complaints, but not up to the expectation I had.
