The EIT Counselling & Psychotherapy Clinic is staffed by students in their final year of a Bachelor of Applied Social Sciences degree in Counselling or Psychotherapy. Student therapists are closely supervised and trained by an experienced counsellor or psychotherapist. Our student counsellors, psychotherapists honour the diversity of cultural and spiritual beliefs and practices present in our community.
How do you begin?

You will be assisted in selecting your choice of counselling or psychotherapy.
Firstly we conduct an initial assessment which provides an opportunity to meet your student therapist and assess your needs. It also allows time for you to ask more questions about how the process works.
Counselling and psychotherapy are safe, ethical and intentional therapeutic processes based on recognising theories and practices aimed at enhancing the quality of clients' lives.
Students practice within the guidelines and ethics of the NZ Association of Counsellors and the NZ Association of Psychotherapists.
