I did not patronise this business originally, but after the regular spot let me down, I was happy to give SB a chance. I was pleasantly surprised. The variety of drinks, both hot and cold, was great but not so vast that the choice was ridiculous. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful and hen I asked for advice for my home coffee machine, the staff member I spoke with showed me how to best prepare to make the coffee and had a good working knowledge of the product.

Initially I would have said that SB's prices were too high, but then I looked at the sizes available (drinks) and this made the price extremely competitive, and I was happy to pay for what I was requesting.

The food cabinet at times appears a little understocked, but in saying that, I often went here mid to late afternoon.

The Maple & Walnut scones were to die for, and I have been known to whine and grizzle until my companions get so annoyed they buy me one of these scones. I have not tried any savoury dishes, but they are well presented and look very inviting.

The one thing I found difficult was the noise, the clatter of the chairs on the hard floor was close to deafening, so we made the most of the outside seating, weather permitting of course. Some type of noise absorbing material would be good somehow.

All in all, the quality of the coffee was close to perfection, if I asked for a triple shot, I knew I had a triple shot, and it was most flavourful with no hint of bitterness, just full bodied.

Oh yes, I did not like how you would place and order along with others at the same time, then have to sit on the edge of your seat hoping to catch your order as it was yelled out from the front counter, given the many different choices, the calling out was very quick and could easily be missed or confused with another order, however, if the shop was a little quieter, the staff will deliver the order to your table, so don't forget to grab sugars, stirrers, and cutlery on the way back to your seat, again, all presented cleanly and clearly.

Starbucks is a place I would like to patronise more often, but given my financial situation this is not possible, which is a shame as it is a place I would frequent if possible.
